About the Group
Caring for a loved one can be deeply meaningful, but it can also be emotionally and physically demanding. LOWLINC offers a Care Partner Discussion Group as a space for caregivers to connect with others who understand the unique experiences, challenges, and rewards of caregiving. The group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Lake of the Woods Church and is open to anyone in the community who identifies as a caregiver, care partner, or provides support to a family member living with a health condition.
During each meeting, participants have the opportunity to share successes, discuss challenges, and exchange ideas and solutions in a supportive and understanding environment. The group also serves as a resource for learning about local services, programs, and support options that may benefit both caregivers and their loved ones.
At this time, we ask caregivers to attend on their own and use meeting time as an opportunity to focus on themselves and their own well-being. However, we recognize that some caregivers may not be able to leave their loved ones at home alone. LOWLINC is currently exploring options for creating a nearby supervised space where loved ones can safely spend time during the discussion group.
The Care Partner Discussion Group is offered at no cost and welcomes all caregivers in the community. Whether you are new to caregiving or have been supporting a loved one for years, this group provides a place for encouragement, connection, and shared understanding.
