Members requesting services are asked to call LOWLINC at 855-569-5462 at least two (2) full business days before the service date. Calls are answered Mondays through Fridays, except on holidays, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. If calling outside of these hours, members can leave a message and will receive a return call the next business day. Once a volunteer has been assigned, members can expect a call directly from the volunteer to coordinate additional details.
Transportation services are limited to locations within a 25-mile radius of LOW and a maximum of two (2) times per week except for special situations (e.g., dialysis, chemotherapy). Transportation is not normally provided for evening or weekend appointments, other than for local events or LOWLINC social activities. For medical or legal appointments more than 25 miles from LOW, LOWLINC can help members arrange for medical transport van service from Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services.
Handyman repairs do not include emergencies, major leaf or snow removal, construction or home renovations, house painting, lawn mowing or major landscaping work, or plumbing and electrical work beyond normal household maintenance or repair. For services beyond the scope of those LOWLINC provides, members can get referrals from LOWLINC’s Service Providers program.
Friendly Visits and Phone Buddy calls, up to two (2) hours per week, can normally be scheduled Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 9:30 am and 4:00 pm.
LOWLINC does not provide specialized health or personal care services, including assistance with activities of daily living, medication management, physical therapy, and personal training.
Technology assistance services are dependent on the skills of available volunteers, and do not include computer hardware repair or complex troubleshooting for software problems.
