Opera at The Regal Theater in Fredericksburg, Saturday, February 24. 12:30 p.m. Tickets $25.44 (senior price).
The Metropolitan Opera simulcasts its live productions at selected movie theaters around the country. Experience the opera just as if you were sitting at the Lincoln Center in New York! The broadcast is about 3 hours 30 minutes long, with an intermission. The opera we will see is Puccini’s La Bohème, one of the most beloved operas of all time. It tells the story of a love affair between a poor poet and an equally poor seamstress in 19th century Paris. The opera is in Italian, with English subtitles. If you have never seen an opera performed, La Bohème is the place to start!
A Musical Afternoon at Lone Pine Landing. Sunday, Feb. 25. 3:00 p.m.
Members and volunteers are invited for an afternoon of singing or just listening at the home of Sid and Karin Mollard. Elizabeth Arndt, accompanied by Karin, will present favorite songs from the ‘40s, ‘50s, and ‘60s. You’ll hear your favorite show tunes, love songs, some old favorite Sinatra tunes and so much more. If you feel the urge to sing along, we’ll have printed words available. The familiar Carpenter’s song said it best: “Sing, sing a song . . . don’t worry if it’s not good enough for anyone else to hear--- just sing-- a song!” Come join in for some wonderful music, light food and drink and lots of fun. Hope to see you there! Please RSVP to Sparkle. No charge.

Member Social & Pizza. Monday, March 12. 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Community Center.
Welcome to all members and interested volunteers. We have been working at providing LOWLINC folks an opportunity to get to know one another better. We have a great room at the Community Center for 2 ½ hours to do whatever we would like. In January, three members brought their Majhong boards and began to teach interested folks how to play. Another group set up a UNO card game, while a third group played a very competitive game of dice! We hope you will consider coming out to see if we can offer an activity you might enjoy. Just sitting at a table with a cup of coffee (provided free of charge) may be a nice break from your normal routine. At noon, we order pizza ($ 5.00 each) or you can bring your own lunch. We have enjoyed these sessions very much and encourage you to come and see for yourself!
Lunch at MAMA'S PIZZA & SUBS. Monday, March 19. 11:30 a.m.
We’ll scoot up Route 20 to Mama’s Pizza and Subs in the Locust Grove Town Center. All manner of Italian fare is available: pizza, subs, Stromboli, Calzone and pasta. Seafood, salads and hamburgers also are on the menu.
LOWLINC Snow/Bad Weather Policy: If Orange County schools are closed due to weather, volunteers will not be able to provide transportation and most other services and social activities will be cancelled. We want everyone to be safe.
